Supergirl Season 1: 9 Big Questions From 'Hostile Takeover'

6. Would That Really Work?

With Winn serving as the show€™s resident tech geek, here we saw him concoct a plan to attach a bug to Dirk Armstrong€™s PC in an attempt to infiltrate his files and e-mails in order to prove that he€™s the no-good sort behind the e-mail hack of Cat Grant. This is all well and good, but when we see the plan put into action it doesn€™t feel quite right. What we saw was James attach the bug to the back of Dirk€™s monitor. Is it really possible to hack into somebody€™s CPU or hard drive purely by attaching something to their monitor? That€™s a serious question. Is there anybody more tech-savvy than me out there who can let me know if this really is doable, for it certainly seems a little far-fetched?
