Teen Wolf: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

Season 3A is home to one of the most loved episodes of all time - Motel California. Taking place during a school trip, the pack is forced to stop at a motel overnight. This isn't an ordinary motel though, there has been an extortionate amount of suicides in this place over the years. As the evening goes on it is clear there may be more because the werewolves seem to be hallucinating. The episode culminates in one of the most moving scenes in the entire show as Stiles saves Scott's life.

Beyond this thriller leaning episode, there is an alpha pack on the loose and an unknown supernatural creature sacrificing people. This creature is a dark druid or "Darach" who eventually takes the parents of Scott, Stiles and Allison, intending to sacrifice them. Meanwhile, Derek is approached by the alpha pack who tell him to kill his pack and take their powers. This leads to him casting out his pack, most of which are already dead, and finding comfort in a woman named Jennifer.

Unfortunately for Derek, Jennifer turns out to be the Darach.

In a final showdown, during a lunar eclipse that leaves the wolves powerless, Derek tries to stop Jennifer, leading to Scott defeating her and becoming a true alpha. Season 3A is full of moral complexity, gripping episodes, and good old teenage angst; it is well worthy of 3rd place.
