A long-awaited return reinvigorates The Flash in one of the season’s best episodes yet.

In what is the last episode of The Flash to air for quite a few weeks, Barry Allen came face-to-face with an old nemesis in the body that has been inhabited by both friends and foes over the past six years.

Yes, in case you hadn't guessed, Eobard Thawne (a.k.a. the Reverse-Flash) was back, and had he had once again taken hold of the body of a Harrison Wells. This time, however, it was the former Pariah and mythbuster himself Nash Wells - who, following Crisis, couldn't shake visions of the imminent threat. And, with that, the show temporarily abandoned its long-running plot threads in favour of a familiar one - with excellent results.

All in all, 'The Exorcism of Nash Wells' was an installment full of wonderful nostalgia and goosebump-inducing thrills; utilising one of the show's classic characters to delve into one of its newest, and it was all made possible by an incredible turn from Tom Cavanagh. And carried by the brilliance of that performance, it set the bar incredibly high for the remainder of the season.
