The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power - 11 Things We Expect To See
3. The Forging Of The Rings
The fact that the titluar "rings" are the focus of the series means that Celebrimbor will be a major player in the series. Though film viewers likely won't know of this famous Elf smith, players who enjoyed the Shadow Of Mordor and Shadow Of War video games, where he played a major role, may look forward to his appearance.
Celebrimbor, a Noldorin Elf, is a major player in Sauron's rise to power, though unlike many others, he was never corrupted by Sauron. Celebrimbor was a great smith who fostered great relations with the Dwarves of Khazad-dûm, and, leading the Gwaith-i-Mírdain, other great Elven Smiths, Celebrimbor took part in forging of the rings of power.
Annatar, Sauron in fair disguise, would later use these rings against Middle Earth. In his mistrust against Annatar, Celebrimbor forged the three Elven rings of power in secret, which is how they escaped Sauron's corruption as he forged the One Ring.
Celebrimbor would eventually be tortured and killed, his body hung from Sauron's banner. The Men who were given the rings were controlled by Sauron, and the Dwarves, though not controlled, would be corrupted or killed.
