The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Episode Six Review - 6 Ups & 3 Downs
1. Down - Adar's Easy Defeat
Adar was given some proper screen time in this episode after weeks of mystery surrounding him. However, he very quickly became a prisoner just as soon as he attempted to escape.
After the soldiers of Númenor (and Galadriel) save everyone from the orcs, the elf pursues the escaping Adar. But with the help of Halbrand, Adar hits the ground hard, meeting the end of a spear at his neck.
While his escape attempt was a clever ploy to trick them into chasing him while his plan was set in motion, it came off as a fairly anti-climatic chase that could have seen a lot more action. Instead, we see a chase on horseback that, while dramatic, didn't exactly do anything unpredictable or exciting.
The episode was already crammed with lots of high-octane moments, but this could have done with more to show off Adar's ruthlessness, while also testing Galadriel's skill with a sword after so easily beating the recruits of Númenor's army.
