The Mandalorian 2.6 Review - 7 Ups And 1 Down From Chapter 14
6. Boba Fett's Big Entrance
People have been asking the same question in pretty much every episode: "where's Boba Fett?!". Well we finally have our answer - he's also been tailing the Razor Crest, and has been after his armour that he lost after escaping the Sarlacc Pit all those years ago (although why he didn't just nick it back from Cobb Vanth is anyone's guess).
Boba appears just after Grogu begins to make his connection with the seeing stone. You get the impression at first that the pair are about to throw down, but they enter into a pact: Boba may have his armour back so long as he helps Din protect The Child, which leads to a team-up that's sure to get fans ridiculously giddy.
Temuera Morrison is great here, and brings a grizzled world weariness to Fett that wasn't there with Jango or of course any of the clones in the Grand Army of the Republic. Rodriguez also gives him plenty of spectacular action sequences, the first of which involves Boba swinging around a massive gaffi stick to club a squad of stormtroopers to death.
There's another awesome moment involving the character that I'll get to later, but for now, it is SERIOUSLY exciting to see where they're taking the character. I personally didn't care for the news of Boba's revival when it was rumoured and when he returned I expected him to act as a sort of antagonist for Din.
It's a pleasant surprise to see The Mandalorian take a different approach though, and especially so, given the episode provided new insights into one of Star Wars' most iconic yet underdeveloped characters.
