The Office: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
5. Season 7
"Nine million, nine hundred eighty-six thousand minutes. That’s how many minutes that you’ve worked here."
That is all.
While there is a lot that happens in this season itself, the gravitas of its main star leaving leaves people with one unforgettable memory above all else: the death of The Office.
There was no going back after this, and in hindsight there was little reason to continue the series afterwards - and the ratings can certainly vouch for that.
This shouldn't mean that stone cold classics should be dismissed though. Episodes like "Christening", in which Michael and Andy have a brief epiphany that sees them jumping on a bus full of churchgoing children headed to Mexico to build a school for the less fortunate, leads to one of the most melancholic yet, arbitrarily funny moments. There's also "Threat Level Midnight", which from start to finish is a threat to the rest of the episodes with its ingenious delivery.
Season 7 would be a lot higher based on Michael's shockingly elegant exit from the series, character moments that cemented themselves as some of the most eccentric of the show and just the overall catharsis felt when viewing this season, but it drops the ball a few too many times.
There's some weak points including Will Ferrell's painful portrayal of whoever DeAngelo is supposed to be but least it was still the same show at this point, before it fell apart in one of the steepest declines ever witnessed.
