7. The Hobbit Parody

As mentioned earlier, the Simpsons are the king of animated parodies. This makes it no surprise that they eventually tackled the Hobbit franchise in one of the most brilliant couch gags in the show's history.
The couch gag takes the Simpsons on a journey through Middle Earth, as they seek out the Couch. Homer is a dwarf, Marge is Gandalf and the children are Hobbits throughout this fantastic journey. The gag also treats fans with a showcase of Springfield's residents in classic roles from the Hobbit franchise, including Moe as Gollum and Lenny, Carl and Barney as giants.
While the journey is fun, it ends perfectly with Homer deciding to lay on the couch and tells the family to "get your own couch." Truly, one of the best animated and well-thought out parodies from the couch gag history.
