Groundskeeper Willie does stray a little too far into stereotype when it comes to representing the people of Scotland. Still, it's something you can somewhat look past as his character, in general, is so enjoyable. The disgruntled and scruffy worker is just as hilarious as he is mysterious, making him a tonne of fun.

Many characters in The Simpsons are prone to over-reacting, but Groundskeeper Willie is easily in the top five. His dramatic responses to minor things and general frustrations with the world make him a very unpredictable character, so it's always exciting to see what ridiculous outbursts he's going to have next.

His mysteriously grubby lifestyle and fits of passion make any moment he's on-screen enjoyable. This is particularly noticeable whenever he shares his time with Principal Skinner, as the two make a great contrasting duo. He's unabashed, unreserved and completely chaotic, which is everything Skinner isn't.
