The Simpsons: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

Homer - just like the show itself - isn't what he used to be. He went from an utterly beloved character to someone who fans find tough to watch, even dubbing him "Jerk-ass Homer". Despite his less than favourable run in the last ten seasons or so, he's still what you think of when you talk about The Simpsons, and his early days will never be forgotten.

One of the most impressive things about this character is that although he's clearly selfish and stupid, he cares so much for his family and often manages to fix the problems he creates. He syncs up with idea of the blissfully ignorant dad who tries his best but keeps screwing up. Thanks to this, he's always been incredibly endearing.

The later stages of his time in the show have turned into something far less subtle and nuanced. However, Homer is still adorably sweet and often hilarious thanks to his gluttony, ignorance and optimistic spirit.
