The Walking Dead: 10 Most Underrated Episodes
1. 30 Days Without An Accident (Season 4, Episode 1)
30 Days without an Accident is one of The Walking Dead's best episodes. It's also one of its most overlooked.
The season four premiere, the episode follows two plots. One sees Rick, no longer going on runs and happily living the life of an idyllic farmer, as he briefly ventures out beyond the walls of the prison and comes face to face with a disturbed woman (Kerry Condon) who wants to find food for her husband. The other follows Daryl, Michonne, Glenn and some others as they go on an ill-fated run to a local store.
Both stories highlight that no matter how good things can seem, the outside world hasn't changed and tragedy always awaits those who venture out into it.
As Rick deals with the trauma of his most recent confrontation, Daryl begins to feel the weight of all the people they've lost along the way.
It's violent, harsh, thoughtful and its constantly surprising, and it deserves so much more praise for what it achieves.
