Twin Peaks: 10 Questions That Still Need Answering

8. What Was The Final Fate Of Windom Earle?

Windom Earle was Cooper€™s partner and mentor who went mad after a botched witness protection job that also took the life of Cooper€™s girlfriend. He was also his opposite in every way: articulate, sophisticated, sourly sadistic, and deceptive. Deeply immersed in Project Blue Book, the FBI investigation into UFOs and purportedly the White Lodge, he drags Cooper and the whole town with him into the thick of his obsession (using a penchant for disguise that would make Peter Sellers blush), setting them up in a twisted game that culminated in Earle kidnapping Cooper€™s lover Annie and taking her to the threshold of the Black Lodge. Last we saw of Windom Earle, BOB had taken his soul only moments before hijacking Dale€™s body. Was Windom Earle trapped in the Red Room along with Agent Cooper? Or will Earle, a dugpa of the surliest kind, return like MIKE and Killer BOB an occupant of lost souls?
