WandaVision: 5 Reasons Mephisto Is The Main Villain

After Thanos was beheaded and then snapped out of existence in Avengers Endgame, the MCU is in need of a new big bad to fill his void. What better person to fill that slot than the literal devil?

While he may not be a big bad for the entire MCU, it is possible to see Mephisto be a thorn in the side of numerous heroes. Mephisto would have been lurking in the shadows for quite sometime, and could be set up as a big bad for a portion of the MCU's fourth phase, particularly the multiverse trilogy.

The multiverse trilogy will consist of WandaVision, Spider-Man 3 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnes, with Mephisto being the perfect big bad to tangle with this particular group of Avengers, as the character is immensely powerful and has connections with each of the heroes listed above.

Doctor Strange has battled Mephisto on multiple occasions, with the demon even stealing Strange's soul at one point. Meanwhile the Wall-Crawler has also encountered the demon, with the infamous One More Day storyline featuring Spider-Man making a literal deal with the devil in order to save his Aunt May's life.

It certainly seems within character for Mephisto to put Wanda and the other heroes through hell, and with the evidence pointing towards the demon making an appearance in the series, we could very well see Spider-Man taking on the devil in live action.
