Even though the X-Men cartoon ran for 76 episodes, there were a couple of obvious aspects that were never explored.

For one, we never saw the actual formation of the X-Men! From the pilot episode, it was clear that Professor X's students were an established team known for performing rescue missions. Apart from some snippets here and there, we never saw the early days of the X-Men. We learn much about the early life of Rogue and Cyclops but there was a lot of details left undisclosed about most of the team members.

It's refreshing that the X-Men cartoon dumped the audience into the middle of the story rather than relying on exposition but there are TONS of things we would love to know.

How did Wolverine join the team? How did Magneto and Professor X fall out? Do any of the X-Men have skeletons in their closet? Although fans expect each episode of the revival to be filled with creative action sequences, it would be nice to learn a bit more about who the X-Men are and who they once were.
