You Season 4: 10 Biggest Questions It Must Answer

Thinking about what's next for everybody's favourite serial killer/stalker...

You Season 3
Netflix

The third season of You has been here for a while and just like its predecessors, the new season is expectedly wild and horrifying in equal measure. The last season ended with Joe marrying Love, an act he clearly abhorred but did in order to be there for his unborn child.

Season three kicks off with the birth of Joe and Love's child, Henry, and the family's relocation to Madre Linda. Our protagonist promises himself (and us by extension) that he will not give in to his worst instincts but with Love and a whole new town full of less than appealing neighbours, it was only a matter of time before Joe's idea of a happy ever after was completely shattered.

To say that the third season took the show to ridiculously compelling new heights would be an understatement. Watching Joe and Love go toe-to-toe was unsettling, but Penn Badgely and Victoria Pedretti's absorbing performances made it entertaining at the same time.

The season finale wrapped up a few narrative loose ends and also changed the setting yet again due to Joe faking his death after killing Love. Naturally, this raises a number of questions as to where the show can go with its stories and painfully unaware protagonist.

You Season 3
Netflix

The third season of You ended in a shocking note with Joe killing Love and faking his death to make it look like she killed him, herself as well as Natalie and Gil.

Before the final showdown with Love, Joe and Marienne consummated their relationship before the latter fled Madre Linda to avoid unwanted attention following the murder of her ex-husband. To this end, the final shot has Joe walking out of a Parisian cafe, indicating that he is keen on finding Marienne and having his happily ever after with her.

It brings up the question of whether Joe will be able to start afresh in the City of Love without attracting attention his way. He may be in a foreign country but in this interconnected day and age all it takes is one person to recognize him and ruin his plans. This concern is especially pertinent following the surveillance sub-plot with Natalie's husband, Matthew.
