10 Greatest UFC Signature Moves

1. GSP's Superman Punch

No move eptomizes their signature owner quite like the smooth, agile, clean-connecting Superman Punch.

Georges St-Pierre is widely regarded as one of the greatest all-round performers in UFC and MMA history. A black-belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a submission specialist - educated at Greg Jackson's Submission Fighting Gaidojutsu School - and also training in Muay Thai under undefeated European Light Welterweight Champion Phil Nurse, GSP has the skill-set to accompany his traditional approach to combat sports.

An under-appreciated part of St-Pierre's game was his striking ability, which is to be expected when you excel in so many other aspects of the sport. Being an innovator and playing by his own rules within the cage, GSP managed to bring the Superman punch to the UFC and his opponents didn't thank him for it.

What made the move such a difficult one to judge was the fact that GSP would constantly have his hands pumping, making his foe feel uneasy as to whether a stiff jab was coming with the leading hand, before being caught flush by the visually stunning application of the move with his trailing fist.

The move has now been immortalised by the likes of the WWE (with Roman Reigns taking ownership of a marketable, flashier version of the move) and youngsters trying to emulate their UFC hero in scraps with their siblings.

Though, GSP should never be disrespected by suggesting he had only one catastrophic stamp, the Superman Punch definitely imprinted the French-Canadian into pop-culture and generated that little bit more popularity for Dana White's flourishing company.
