Was it ever going to be anyone else?

Bursting onto the scene in 2013, Conor McGregor wasted little time establishing himself as one of the loudest mouths in MMA.

He wasn't all bark and no bite, however.

Quite the opposite, in fact. Taking apart the likes of Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier and Chad Mendes on-route to his fabled showdown with Jose Aldo, 'Notorious' definitely knew how to back up his words in the cage.

This is what skyrocketed the Irishman to superstardom. He could cause as much damage to you with his vicious left as he could do with a few words into a UFC mic.

Since rapidly knocking off Aldo at UFC 194, McGregor has become a household name and his evolution from fish-out-of-water wise-cracker to undisputed top draw in all of MMA has been fascinating to watch unfold.

He's definitely no saint - his recent blood feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov proved as much - but he's without question one of the biggest stars in all of sports today and 'ConorMania' will continue to break numerous records whenever it rolls into town for a reason.

The people love 'Mystic Mac' and it doesn't look like he'll be knocked off the charismatic number one spot any time soon.
