UFC 240 Preview And Predictions

1. Max Holloway Vs. Frankie Edgar

UFC featherweight champion, Max Holloway is really on a quest to take Jose Aldo's title as the greatest 145lber of all time. To some fans he already is the greatest, but there are still doubters who think he needs to add a few more legendary names to his record.

Longtime title challenger Frankie Edgar is the perfect opponent for Holloway right now. A proven commodity who was already a champion at a higher weight class, Edgar has the accolades to help push Holloway further towards greatness.

That doesn't mean this is going to be an easy ride for the champion though. Edgar's ability to transition between grappling and striking is some of the best in the business. His frenetic footwork has left many opponents in fits and his endless cardio means he's also in their face from the first to the fifth round.

The problem for Edgar is that Holloway has an incredible output when it comes to strikes and exceptional cardio of his own. We all know Frankie can take a shot and come back, but a constant barrage of strikes from someone like Holloway isn't something he can stand up to.

Despite taking a shellacking against Dustin Poirier in his last bout, Holloway is an absolute force at 145lbs. Although Edgar is far from a walkover, it's difficult to see him possessing a threat that Holloway is yet to see in his career.
