UFC Fight Night: Cejudo Vs. Dillashaw Main Card Results Predictions
1. Henry Cejudo (13-2) Vs T.J. Dillashaw (16-3)
The evening's main event is a clash between 2 UFC World Champions in the prime of their careers, to decide the fate of the UFC Flyweight Championship.
Henry "The Messenger" Cejudo is an Olympic wrestling gold medalist, who shocked the world last August by defeating Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson, for the flyweight strap. As his pedigree would suggest, the Olympian often relies on his wrestling to get the win —though he has shown significant improvement in the striking department as of late.
UFC Bantamweight Champion T.J. Dillashaw is coming off back-to-back knockout wins over former titleholder Cody Garbrandt. Dillashaw is a former D-1 wrestler, who has also become one of the best strikers in MMA.
The outcome of this fight will depend on whether or not Cejudo can take Dillashaw down and use his wrestling to dictate the pace. The bantamweight champ is both the larger man and the better striker, so a standup fight will likely go his way. Dillashaw's wrestling background, while not as impressive as "The Messenger's", should be good enough to keep him from being taken down at will. Assuming that's the case, the fight should go the bantamweight kings way.
Prediction: Dillashaw via unanimous decision.
