10 Best Possible Last Words Of Vince McMahon

9. "About That Trial..."

Vince McMahon
WWE

On July 22nd 1994, Vince McMahon was cleared of the remaining charges brought against him by the United States Government in what was latterly referred to as the trial of his life.

It wasn't quite as dramatic as that, but the two counts of steroid distribution and one count of conspiracy to distribute steroids left him at worst staring down the barrel of eleven years in prison and an estimated $1.5 million in court fines and fees. It was one that had to go well just for his entire empire to make it out in one piece - it instead went so well that his life and organisation were ethically exonerated by the wider general public.

From all the negative attention and sleaze attached to his brand for the better part of four years in the run-up to the case, it was almost entirely absent again until the company were so successful at the end of the 1990s that they didn't need to give a sh*t about the criticism.

McMahon didn't get away with anything, he was found and proven innocent. But within the trial, a series of wrestlers (ironically) unionised in their testimonies which many later speculated on the legitimacy of. Nailz, under oath, said he "hated [McMahon's] guts" rendering him biased and unreliable. Hulk Hogan was Hulk Hogan.

Imagine, with just seconds left, Vince himself dished out the really juicy stuff the trial missed. Dangerously juicy. Incriminatingly juicy.
