When 'Macho Man' won King of the Ring in 1987, he capitalized on the momentum by capturing his first WWF Championship six months later.
However, in 1990 the now-heel Savage revived the gimmick and took it to a whole new level, with Sensational Sherri replacing Miss Elizabeth as his "queen".
'The Macho King' Randy Savage famously cost The Ultimate Warrior the WWF Championship at Royal Rumble 1991, leading into a fantastic retirement bout between the two at 'Mania VII.
With Elizabeth watching at ringside, Savage would lose and then Queen Sherri would proceed to beat up her meal ticket.
A few minutes later, with the crowd going crazy, Elizabeth saved Savage from Sherri and the two got back together, with people literally crying in the crowd. And just like that, the 'Macho Man' was back...
It's one of those wrestling moments that will live forever, and no one could've played that role better than the legendary 'Macho Man'.
