10 Major Challenges Facing WWE In 2021
1. The Ongoing Global B*stard Still Going On
When Triple H welcomed everybody to the first crowdless WWE show since one of the 1995 house shows he almost certainly worked, there was a certainly novelty to it.
WrestleMania wasn't cancelled yet, Hunter himself hung around on commentary to torture Michael Cole, and the wrestlers working to nobody in particular had a strange "how the f*ck is this even happening?" charm to it. All of that sentiment was drained bone dry by the following edition of Raw. Reality set in that the 'Show Of Shows' was knackered as was the entire world.
Such is life in the ever-changing plate-shifting global b*stard-infested world, and that's no different for WWE. In much the same way every novelty "solution" has worn off, so too has the ThunderDome's sheen. A move to a baseball stadium wasn't touted as a big deal, seemingly because the company knew it wouldn't look any different on television.
The next step will be to let fans in at a safe distance, but will this feel any different than that pop.wav button? Will they be able to work a few different towns? Will wrestlers want the additional risk of infection? These are the same hypotheticals WWE have had to figure through all year, but more things change and/or stay the same, the more they'll have another mountain to climb.
