10 Things John Cena Haters Should Stop Complaining About
9. Sophomore Humour
Earlier this year, John Cena was locked in a very interesting feud with surging cult leader Bray Wyatt and his pair of imposing minions. Wyatt was teasing out the dark side of Cena's personality and the star seemed genuinely troubled by the effect that Wyatt's mind games were having on him. However, one segment in April featured Cena cracking a series of immature jokes using Photoshopped images of the Wyatt Family members as women, was a troubling part of the rivalry. It was an awful promo that did a lot to undermine the rivalry that was crackling between Cena and the demonic 'Eater of Worlds'. Cena is often attacked for resorting to sophomoric, frat boy humour during his promos. But this is only one facet of his mic work. Cena is also perfectly capable of being stony-faced and serious or incredibly passionate when the need calls for it. These people are also forgetting that Cena's gimmick started as a battle rapper. Whilst he has come a long way since the 'Doctor of Thuganomics', it's only natural that a small amount of that character remains. To pillory the man for one aspect of his promo skills is frankly ludicrous.
