10 Times The Past Buried WWE's Future

1. Goldberg Embarrasses The Fiend

Bray Wyatt's struggles with WWE's creative department are well-documented. From his creepy backwater beginnings through the Firefly Funhouse to the sinister menace of 'The Fiend', Wyatt struggled to get his true vision across to WWE fans, as it was constantly being meddled with by people who didn't understand his characters or the horror genre that Bray drew influence from.

Nevertheless, 'The Fiend' would overcome these odds and find popularity. It may have always been a Diet version of Bray's intentions, but 'The Fiend' is still revered by fans to this day. That is an unbelievable achievement when looking back at some of the abysmal booking Wyatt had to suffer, the worst of which came in Saudi Arabia at the hands of Bill Goldberg.

Taking on Goldberg at Super ShowDown 2020, Bray Wyatt's 119-reign with the Universal Championship came to a screeching halt. 'The Fiend' was hit by four Spears and one of the worst Jackhammers of all time, as he was destroyed in less than three minutes by the then-53-year-old. This felt even more insulting, as it came one year on from Goldberg's match at Super ShowDown 2019 with The Undertaker, which is comfortably one of the worst matches in The Phenom's long and illustrious career. It was an insult to 'The Fiend', Bray Wyatt, and fans everywhere.
