10 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Turning Point 2021

5. Pre-Show Proves Its Purpose

The purpose of a pre-show is to make you excited for the main portion of the evening. Perhaps, if you've not been sold on said main portion, it'll force you into spilling some additional cash. That's what FinJuice vs. Rohit Raju and Raj Singh achieved, anyway.

Replacing Decay's Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus, who were whisked away to Wrestle House, Raju and Singh wrestled as the perfect heels. Raj, in particular, was excellent throughout. He capitalised on every available opportunity as the referee was distracted, dropping David Finlay across the ring apron. That's what apron spots should be constrained to; legitimate moments in which maximum pain is required. A distracted referee sequence is perfect for such a moment. Later on, alongside Rohit, the former Desi Hit Squad executed a neat wheelbarrow DDT.

FinJuice looked wonderful, as is traditional for them, ultimately putting Raj Singh down via Doomsday Device. They're former World Tag Team Champions, though; they, really, should be the better team. As great as it is for IMPACT to build them back up following failed World Tag Team Titles pursuits, it's far grander that they're putting this effort in for Rohit and Raj, too.

A great start to the evening.
