10 Weird Times WWE Superstars Shared The Same Theme

6. Billy & Chuck/Santina Marella

The homosexual community was left irate when WWE revealed that supposed gay lovers Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo were only getting (kayfabe) married for publicity in 2002. Gunn and Palumbo weren't really gay, they just fancied stirring the pot for laughs. Comedy is something faux-Italian funster Santino Marella made a career out of.

Sadly for him, he was the only one laughing when 'Santina' Marella hit screens in 2009 and became 'Miss. WrestleMania'.

During his time in drag, Marella used Billy & Chuck's boy-band-sounding strains as his own entrance theme. The fact it had previously been used for a phoney-gay tag-team wasn't acknowledged by WWE, and so some younger fans probably didn't know it was a recycled tune. Older fans weren't so fortunate.

In fairness, the song is one of those guilty pleasures. It has good melodies and a catchy opening hook. Still, using it for Santino in a dress must have been some sort of backstage rib. Someone found it hilarious, no doubt.
