5. New Jack Claims He Wanted To Badly Injure Vic Grimes

The goal of any pro wrestling match is to protect one's opponent.

You can smash them stiffly in safe spaces. You can come very close to dropping them on their head. You can drive them very hard to the canvas back-first, since the large surface area best distributes the pain. Under no circumstances do you attempt to badly injure or even kill your opponent. It is *extremely Pete Dunne voice* not the way.

The story is that New Jack never forgot the events of ECW Living Dangerously 2000, at which he suffered brain damage when Vic Grimes fell on top of him having been dragged into a balcony dive spot he was trepidatious about. Two years later, when the rancid XPW league attempted to reboot Paul Heyman's outfit in everything bar two initials and the actual IP, New Jack sought his "revenge"; in the 2005 documentary Hardcore Forever, and Jack has repeated this story on Dark Side of the Ring, he claimed that he wanted to kill Grimes by throwing him head-first into the top turnbuckle.

There are holes to all this.

1) They worked without incident together at Hardcore Heaven 2000 just months after the initial fall.

2) New Jack didn't really throw him with too much force in '02. He claims this was an accident, and that he meant to do it harder.

3) New Jack is a professional wrestler.

Still, if nothing else, it's a wild thing to even work.
