5. The Miz Main Eventing WrestleMania 27 Instead Of CM Punk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIerzJeMq6U The biggest storyline that WWE was pushing for WrestleMania 27 was the issue between perennial top babyface John Cena and his personal beef with The Rock, who returned to WWE after seven long years to be the guest host of WrestleMania. Lost in the shuffle was the opponent of Cena that happened to be the WWE Champion: The Miz. The Miz was the chosen heel WWE Champion after he won the title in November of 2010 thanks to the Money in the Bank briefcase. To the credit of The Miz, he worked hard to get where he was and he had a lot of momentum. It's just that he didn't really have memorable matches or feuds. His biggest rival before WrestleMania was Jerry Lawler of all people. When you compare Miz to a guy like CM Punk, who's the better performer? The answer is CM Punk. Better talker, better worker, better all around talent. It's fair to say that Punk had his breakout later in 2011, but he also had memorable feuds years earlier with the likes of Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio. This is not a case of me hating on Miz. I don't mind the guy at all. It's just that CM Punk is better. On Punk's DVD was released, he spoke about how much it bothered him that a guy like Miz got to main event WrestleMania while Punk had a match on the undercard with Randy Orton. That match was better than Miz/Cena. No question about it. None of John Cena's matches with The Miz were good. They had several of them. All of Cena's matches with Punk are usually very good and sometimes are match of the year quality too. It's fair to say that WWE made the wrong decision when they picked Cena's opponent at WrestleMania 27. It should have been CM Punk.
