10 Wrestlers WWE Have Already Ruined In 2022

5. Damian Priest

Acting as one of the few NXT darlings to not be squandered upon arrival after first showing up in last year's Royal Rumble, Damian Priest followed up a marquee Bad Bunny partnership at 'Mania 37 with an undefeated streak and decent US title run.

Then the wheels started to fall off towards the end of 2021.

With WWE canning his old theme song and becoming weirdly obsessed with his name, and the multiple personalities it seemingly alludes to, the champ suffered his first one-on-one defeat at the hands of Kevin Owens in a throwaway match on Raw. A meaningless elimination at the hands of Omos in the Rumble was then followed up by yet another painful defeat to the aforementioned titan's former partner, AJ Styles, emphatically squandering the momentum that had been quietly forcing fans to care about The Archer of Infamy for the prior months.

Priest could still turn things around and maybe even breathe new life into his character with a heavier focus on his "Damian" side. But WWE doesn't have the best of track records with their new heels as of late, and you wouldn't bet against Priest becoming top guy cannon fodder over the course of 2022.
