10 Wrestling Clichés That Need To Die

7. Indie Wrestlers Have No Charisma

This is a perception made popular by people like Kevin Nash, who would have us believe that anyone not competing under the WWE lights are vanilla gymnasts who can't cut a promo.

But, really, this attitude belongs to a different era. You only have to look at the likes of Cody, Jay Lethal, and The Young Bucks for proof that it's simply no longer true (and, if you count NJPW as an indie, you can also throw in a whole host of others).

In fact, it's been in the case over recent years that many of WWE's sharpest talkers have been plucked straight from the indie scene. CM Punk and Kevin Owens, for example, are much better on the mic than Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt.

These days, you don't need to be working for Vince McMahon to make a living in the world of pro wrestling, and that is reflected in the fact that several larger-than-life characters are now happy to compete independently.
