10 Wrestling Matches That Collapsed In Front Of Everybody

1. D-Generation X Vs Rated-RKO (WWE New Year's Revolution 2007)

Though perhaps not the final final blowoff to the winter programme between D-Generation X and Rated-RKO, this New Year's Revolution bout was at very least positioned as the beginning of the end of it before disaster struck for the combo's intended biggest winner.

Having eventually emerged successful from the programme (imagine that), Triple H was reportedly set to be slotted back into the main event with a Royal Rumble victory and/or a WWE Championship rematch with John Cena at WrestleMania 23. But plans change, pal. Or in this case, they were changed for him by his second torn quadricep of the decade.

Coming as he drilled Randy Orton with a spinebuster, the tear was less dramatic than his 2001 one against Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit, but that didn't stop his parter attempting to make the best of a nightmare situation by bludgeoning both Randy Orton and Edge with fists, chairs and an elbow through the announce table.

Shawn Michaels deserves substantial praise for how this all concluded, if not for the improvised chaos he helped orchestrate but for how improvised and chaotic it felt. Now somewhat derided for his trope-laden choices as an NXT coach, this was 'HBK' using his melodramatic urges for the best possible outcome - an obvious non-finish felt anything but as Shawn and the hobbled Hunter left the scene.
