10 Wrestling Themes That Are Actually Good Songs

5. Dusty Rhodes - Common Man Boogie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d1RL_dgJIs What can be said about the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes that hasn't already been said. His character was one that stood up for the working class and the funk-driven soul of 'Common Man Boogie' expressed this very sentiment to the nth degree. This all inclusive track hits a chord with the listener from the first note, possessing the same fiery passion that Dusty Rhodes was all about. Its looping bass wallops and reverberated guitar licks drive the song, with some soulful vocals riding over the top, make it a great slice of funky Motown that's as infectious the 100th listen as it is the first. The late legend got the best out of Jimmy Hart and J.J Maguire on this one because it pushes forward with urgent immediacy, packing everything into a neat three-minute package. If you heard this one outside of its wrestling context, it would still cut the mustard because of the deceiving amount of musical depth under the hood. He will always be remembered for his fantastic in-ring work as well as his infectious personality behind the mic. 'Common Man Boogie' was part of that larger than life persona, a song that brought the heart and soul back into the wrestling business.
