10 WWE Moves That Had To Be Renamed

3. Souvenir

Since debuting in WWE in 2010, it’s taken Bad News Barrett a while to settle on a single finishing manoeuvre.

Originally he relied on Wasteland—a relatively straightforward fireman’s carry slam—before progressing to the more impactful Winds of Change spinning sideslam. And though both moves remain a part of his arsenal, neither is used to kill off an opponent.

That honour is saved for his patented elbow smash, which was initially known as the Souvenir.

You can definitely identify with Barrett’s reasoning here, as any elbow smash to the head is going to leave something of a mark. But still, much like Christian and the Unprettier, Barrett must have thought he could do better.

The Souvenir was soon renamed the much more menacing Bullhammer, and has since become a very well-protected finisher in the WWE.

Looking back, you’ve got to think that this was a wise move to ditch the Souvenir. The Bullhammer is so much more in keeping with Barrett’s gritty persona, and worthy finisher for the Englishman.
