12 Ups And 16 Downs For WWE In 2021

11. Jobbing The Fiend

The laws of physics clearly don’t apply to WWE – and neither do horror movie rules.

Because apparently, a supernatural wrestler can survive being burned alive, only to job to a single, solitary RKO.

That’s also a thing that really happened, as The Fiend was burned alive by Randy Orton in December 2020 in one of the dumbest moments of that year, only to be resurrected as an extra-crispy version of the villain in the lead-up to WrestleMania 37. Naturally, he wanted revenge on Orton, and we got that match as the first bout of night two.

Unfortunately for fans, the match was abysmal, with Fiend getting distracted by his companion Alexa Bliss “bleeding” from the head and being covered in goo while sitting atop a giant jack-in-the-box. Fiend turned around into an RKO was jobbed out in less than 6 minutes.

And that was the last match for Bray Wyatt in WWE before he was released earlier this summer. Reports surfaced later that plans called for Fiend to win the bout, but it was inexplicably changed at the last minute, which naturally left him without any direction for after Mania, which made it easier to release Wyatt.
