12 Wrestlers Who Looked COMPLETELY Out Of Place In Other Promotions

7. Eric Bischoff In AEW

The Bisch in AEW felt off long before 'Easy E' and Tony Khan started their back and forth war of words via various interviews and Bischoff's '83 Weeks' podcast with Conrad Thompson. In 2020, Eric was coming off a short-lived run behind the scenes at WWE, and it seemed like shunting him onto TNT for the first time since 2000 was the only good reason to bring him in on Dynamite.

This was a novelty cameo at best. Simple as that.

In total, Bischoff made around a handful of appearances for Khan, but he didn't really add anything to storylines involving Chris Jericho, MJF and The Inner Circle. So, it was puzzling that they'd even bothered to fly him in at all. Apparently, someone thought Eric standing around looking glum as others bickered was pulsating television that'd turn Dynamite into the most must-see show going.

Not quite. If anything, Bischoff seemed pretty bored by his role, and the polite receptions he'd been given by the AEW audience online turned to apathy then outright resentment once he started getting into it with Tony about Ted Turner, Nitro and WCW as a whole compared to AEW. Talk about doomed to fail with The Hardys - this was worse than that.

Bisch was closely tied to WCW and the nWo, then he'd become one of the best authority figures in WWE history from 2002 onwards. Seeing him add next to nothing to the product on AEW TV was an experience. They might as well have stuck a cardboard cutout there. Eric may have preferred that himself, in retrospect!
