20 Longest WWE Intercontinental Title Reigns

2. Pedro Morales - 425 Days

The Rock Ic Champ

Having been the third ever Intercontinental Champion, it was with his second IC Title reign that Pedro Morales had a run that currently sits as the second longest run with the belt to date.

Historically, Pedro is remembered as the first person to ever hold the Intercontinental Championship twice, not to mention becoming the first Triple Crown winner with his first IC run.

Having lost the title to Don Muraco in June 1981, Morales would regain the belt in November of that year in a Texas Death Match, going on to hold the gold for a mammoth 425 days.

During this lengthy run, Morales would go on to become the Intercontinental Title's first real "fighting champion", defeating a veritable who's who of the heel roster, such as Muraco, Adrian Adonis, Greg Valentine, Buddy Rose, Killer Khan, Bob Orton Jr., and Billy Graham.

Eventually Morales' second run as Intercontinental Champion would come to an end thanks to Don Muraco, with "Magnificent" Muraco becoming a two-time IC Champ himself by defeating Morales in January 1983.
