4 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Aug 20)
3. Ticking Along
Hey, maybe this was a subtle SummerSlam spoiler.
Big E couldn't take back his Money In The Bank briefcase from that rotten bum thief Baron Corbin. He marched out looking mean and attacked Corbin (thus putting an end to Baron's match with Kevin Owens), but was rammed into the ring post. Then, Mr. Down-On-His-Luck-And-Badly-Needs-A-Barber high-tailed it.
This might've been a clue that E won't be cashing in on one of the World Champs come Saturday night. After all, the only other angle they could trigger would be...oh, oh no. They wouldn't, would they? WWE wouldn't have Corbin attempt a cash in, lose and then ruin MITB for Big E. Would they?!
Right, time to calm down. That's a horrendous thought, but this mini-feud is actually fine for what it is. It's keeping E busy in the interim, makes sense on Baron's side and shouldn't eat up bags of TV time every single week. WWE just have to make sure that the real Mr. MITB comes out shining in the end.
