5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 29)

1. Chris Jericho Gets Goaded

Chris Jericho = master at work.

The way he cleverly let Wheeler Yuta goad him into putting that crack at Jon Moxley's interim AEW World Title on the line was deft. That'll happen at Dynamite: Quake By The Lake, and the bout already has a sweet "sports entertainer" vs. pure pro wrestler vibe to it.

Technically, this was supposed to be Claudio Castagnoli's promo time, but AEW just wanted to show off his ROH World Title before moving onto other matters. Nobody should have a problem with that, especially not when Jericho vs. Yuta is so enticing.

JAS vs. BCC is a rivalry that's still bursting with one-on-one match possibilities, so it makes sense for All Elite to hammer that home. Jericho vs. Yuta has high stakes, is another top opportunity for Wheeler and fits snugly into the "sports entertainment" story Chris has been telling.

Top work.
