5 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Feb 27)

6. New Day On Cruise Control

Let’s just put it out there: New Day’s days on Raw are numbered.

That’s the only possible explanation for why the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history continue to just drift aimlessly from non-feud to non-feud for the past two months, and seemingly will do so for the next month, until they host (not wrestle at) WrestleMania XXXIII. The most decorated, accomplished tag team in WWE today presumably won’t be competing at the biggest show of the year.

And it shows on Raw, as New Day made a few jokes Monday night – including an Oscar-related one that fell completely flat – and then beat Rusev and Jinder Mahal in a nothing match. That’s not to say that the trio are at an end, just that they desperately need a change of scenery.

Odds are that New Day is on cruise control because they are ripe for a change to SmackDown after WrestleMania, which would make sense given that they haven’t really been in serious storylines since losing the Raw Tag Team Championships in December. Time will tell, but for now, it’s just New Day adrift on a giant Booty-O.
