Hawaii: Don "The Rock" Muraco

Birthplace: Sunset Beach, Hawaii That's right... a full decade before Dwayne Johnson was using it, another muscular wrestler of Polynesian descent was performing as "The Rock" on WWF programming. While he was mostly known for that WWF work, Don Muraco saw plenty of fame in his pre-WWF days, as well, including success in Verne Gagne's AWA, as well as Eddie Graham's Championship Wrestling From Florida. His biggest claim to fame is being on the receiving end of Jimmy Snuka's top-of-the-steel-cage Superfly Splash at Madison Square Garden in 1983, which was an event famously attended by Mick Foley, and would become Foley's motivation to become a wrestler himself. Somewhat unfortunate for your biggest moment to be a loss, but it's more than many can say about their careers.
