6 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (16 March)
3. Miguel Unleashed
To an extent, Trey Miguel has found the passion that Sami Callihan claims he didn't have. When he entered the Impact Zone for his main event bout with 'The Draw', it felt like a new version of Trey.
He didn't defeat the former World Champion, however, he didn't necessarily need to from a storyline perspective.
Sami focused on Trey's ankle throughout the match. It effectively rendered the majority of Miguel's offence impossible to execute. From a ringside Liontamer to a top rope Boston Crab to simply biting Trey's ankle as he attempted his Hourglass submission, Sami had a clear-set plan. It didn't really help that Trey continued to attempt his leg-based offence, but Callihan's mission worked. He won, pinning Miguel with his 23 Enigma package piledriver.
It was a solid main event. Although this would have been better suited on a pay-per-view - it seemed to leading into Rebellion before this match was announced post-Sacrifice - it worked on television. Sami and Trey work together perfectly because they can make you sympathise for the right now, and find hatred for the other guy. Anyone who can do this successfully is doing something right.
