Ric Flair's feud with former X Division Champion Jay Lethal was probably the only highlight of Flair's ill-advised tenure in the then-2nd biggest wrestling promotion in North America. It came out of what could probably be considered a waste of Lethal's talents, as he was still doing his whole 'Black Machismo' schtick at the time.

Lethal transitioned into mimicking Flair after Hogan gave him the Nature Boy's WWE Hall of Fame ring that Abyss had won (long story), all of which led to an in-ring confrontation between the two. Lethal dropped the imitation out of respect, and finally seemed to be receiving the push his talents deserved.

A match between Flair and Lethal was booked for Victory Road 2010 and Lethal pulled out the victory via submission, Flair tapping out to the Figure Four Leglock. Two weeks later they would have a re-match, Flair winning the street fight after interference from Doug Williams.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
