4. Starting Near Riots As The Leader Of The Straight Edge Society
http://youtu.be/TJ1msqLo48k When Punk was doing the Straight Edge Society gimmick in 2010 he was generating the kind of classic, old school type of heel heat that few wrestlers can garner in this generation. It's not like he said anything that was that crazy or over the top. All he would do is say things like he's better than you and the people hated him for it. Punk was at a live event in San Jose in March of 2010 when he nearly started a riot during a promo. People were throwing their drinks at him. He got right in the face of some fans that were taunting him. People were getting ejected. There are all kinds of clips from Punk at a show in San Jose when he was getting in the faces of fans, calling an assh**e and things of that nature. He just didn't care about what he said or did as long as he could get the people to boo him. During the Straight Edge Society era, he didn't care what he said or did to upset people. As long as they hated him that was good for him. This was Punk at his best. He's one of the best heels in the last decade in WWE. No doubt about it. The Straight Edge Society was such a great stable. It's a shame it ended so quickly.
