7 Ups And 1 Downs From Last Night's NXT (18 March)
1. Christ, Ripley's A Star Isn't She?
WWE, quite rightly, gets absolutely slaughtered for how badly it books its "next big things". They get a mega-push, usually beyond their ability, are force-fed gimmicks and material nobody's really that invested in, then thrown back into the mid-card because somehow all of that was their fault.
In Rhea Ripley though, they have not missed a single step. Seeing her back under her old chirpy, smiley, just-happy-to-be-there guise as part of a hype package for her WrestleMania match was striking. Mostly because it highlights just how far she's come in that time.
Whatever form WrestleMania ends up taking, WWE have a job on their hands to keep people invested in it. In Ripley vs Flair they still have a contest that people would watch regardless of the setting.
