A while back, this column gave kudos to WWE for trying something different with backstage interviews by having wrestlers cut promos ala selfie. It was different and worked OK.

But now, WWE has taken it a step further and added graphics to the promos, popping colored words on the screen to match the promo.

It. Doesn’t. Work.

For the Mixed Match Challenge, which is supposed to be different and kind of in its own universe, it’s fine. But on Raw, it looks campy as hell, and not in a good way. It was especially annoying as Braun Strowman cut his promo Monday night. If anyone doesn’t need that sort of thing, it’s Braun.
