7 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (September 17th)
3. Booking In Reverse
There are few things this writer hates more than how WWE will occasionally announce a big match for an upcoming show and then backfill the rivalry for the match.
Case in point, Ronda Rousey came out to issue an open challenge for her Raw Women’s Championship. Natalya appeared to answer the call, only to be jumped by the Riott Squad, who then stormed the ring to attack Rousey. With Nattie incapacitated, the Bella Twins ran down to save Ronda.
All of this would seem to set up a six-woman tag match, which would make for a nice PPV bout. Only, it already has been booked. Rousey and the Bellas will tangle with the Riott Squad at Super Show-Down in less than three weeks. The match was announced on WWE.com three weeks ago, well before this rivalry was even formed.
But hey, now we’ve got a reason for them to fight, so yay.
