7 Wrestlers Who Should Never Sign With WWE (And Why)
3. Zack Sabre Jr.
Arguably the most creative and talented technical wrestler modern audiences have ever seen, Zack Sabre Jr has gone from big mid-card attraction in the world’s indies, to genuine main-event star in New Japan.
WWE were really keen on getting him in after his appearance in the Cruiserweight Classic, but he promptly told them to suck an egg and, well, he does stuff like the above elsewhere instead.
The company are, allegedly, still keen on him but the mat-based ground style, twisty-all-the-limbs-thing just wouldn’t do anything for the air-quotes “core audience”. He’s just too.. Different for them. Can you imagine a Raw crowd full of kids and pissed up Americans trying to watch him contort Baron Corbin into a pretzel? You can’t.
As with so much of the talent who graduated from the Classic to 205 he’d be lumbered with precious little TV time and a bad watering-down of his gimmick. He’s living his dream of going full-time in New Japan and, well, it’s the best place for him.
