8 Cross-Promotion Wrestling Dream Matches We Will Never See

1. John Cena Vs Hiroshi Tanahashi

Jon Moxley Vs Roman Reigns Vs Seth Rollins Shield Triple Threat
WWE/NJPW

These two truly are the aces of their companies and the talents of a whole generation.

John Cena became the unrivalled face of WWE, ushering in a whole new era for the company and becoming a megastar in the process. Hiroshi Tanahashi helped build NJPW from the ground up then became a national icon and the face of the entire Japanese wrestling scene. So, it's by no means an understatement to say their encounter would be worthy of a WrestleMania/Kingdom main event.

Regarding their style, it would be an epic showdown, as both performers have great signature moves to hit and are masters at feeding off the crowd. The result itself could go either way, as wherever they decided to wrestle, it would feel appropriate for either of them to take the crown. But, of course, this will never happen.

If WWE were ever to consider crossing over their talent, it wouldn't be their most prominent stars; so Cena would be the last person on the list. Plus, with his semi-retirement from the business, it would be illogical to assume that he'd travel to Japan or take the time out to face a star who doesn't have as much American clout.
