8 WWE Superstars Whose Social Media Activity Backfired
2. Luke Harper's Release Request Results In Contract Extension
The very definition of backfired reads: to have an opposite and undesirable effect to what was intended.
For Luke Harper, it doesn't get any more opposite or undesirable than asking to be let out of your WWE contract, only for said contract to actually be extended. Unfortunately for the one-time Intercontinental Champion, that was exactly what he's had to deal with.
Having requested out of his WWE contract this past April, not only did WWE not grant Harper his request, they went one better and extended it by a further six months.
Originally, the hugely talented big man was due to see his current WWE contract expire this November. While the worst case scenario seemed to be that Harper would have to stick with WWE up until that deal ran out, the company moved to add an additional six months to his existing deal due to time the Wyatt Family favourite has spent on the injured list.
All being well, Luke Harper should finally be able to leave WWE by May 2020, but taking to Twitter with his gripe only made things worse for the former Brodie Lee.
