AEW: Ranking Every 2020 Signing's Run From Best To Worst
8. Sting
Yes, he hasn't done anything yet, and yes, he may not ever do anything if he can't get cleared. But come on, it's Sting.
The Dynamite special, Winter is Coming, was one hell of a newsworthy show. Not only did Kenny Omega win the AEW World Championship, not only were the battle lines drawn for an interpromotional war, but we also got the AEW debut of Sting. The man who came to define the then-WWF's biggest competition was now a member of the WWE's most credible threat in decades.
Sting made his epic entrance by coming to the aid of Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin in fending off Team Taz. The face-painted vigilante stunned everyone in Daily's Place that night, including several of the people actually on camera when it happened. The emotion in Tony Schiavone's voice when he yells "It's Sting!" is enough to prove to anyone how big of a deal this moment was.
The Stinger is one of the biggest wrestling names of all time; a bona fide legend whose appeal stretches across generations and fanbases. The multiple-time World Champion was a huge get for AEW, and his debut was rightfully met with a mixture of joy, shock, and intrigue.
So, yeah, he's eighth. Deal with it.
